Cityscape Global invites the brightest architectural and urban design students from across the Kingdom to take part in a groundbreaking design challenge.
Inspired by the launch of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister's groundbreaking Saudi Architecture Characters Map, this year's Hackathon, sponsored by Al Majdiah, challenges the next generation to reimagine the Kingdom's future through their own unique interpretation.

THE CHALLENGE
The Saudi Building Code identifies 19 architectural codes – choose a minimum of one of these 19 codes and apply it as the foundational principle in designing a new urban space. Your challenge is to:
Select and specify the architectural code(s) you are utilising in your design. (Please note you must use at least one)
Design a concept for an urban space. Any type of building, public space, community district, metro station that meaningfully integrates this code
Demonstrate how your design balances functionality, sustainability and cultural identity
Showcase your solution through sketches, renders and digital mock-ups
