Zain Ansari

Saudi-raised and London-based, Zain integrates biotechnology into architecture. He holds a Master’s in Bio-Integrated Design from UCL’s Bartlett, where he focused on merging ecosystems within the built environment to tackle climate change.

After founding Anastomosis Design Lab in Jeddah, Zain launched Phyta Biodesign in London. The startup connects nature and architecture through data-driven computational design, digital fabrication, and material innovation, creating award-winning products like Apia and Fauna.

Zain envisions climate-resilient architecture that weaves nature into the built fabric. His mission is to shift design from human-centric to interspecies thinking, driving sustainable applications and environmental impact on a global scale.
