Rolando Martins

From 2015 to 2017 I was a non-executive board member of Expo 2020 Dubai. In January 2018 I moved to Dubai to take on the executive role of Chief Visitor Experience Officer, drawing directly on what I’d learned in Lisbon: the content masterplan for the themed pavilions and the public-space design.

In January 2019, I was asked to step into the role of Chief Operating Officer for the final run-up to the event. During the Expo itself — October 2021 to March 2022 — my operation covered around 25,000 people, direct and indirect staff included.

I serve as Senior Advisor to H.E. Reem Al Hashimy and Executive Member of the Expo City Dubai Authority Board. I oversee key departments and core city activities, ensuring a functional environment aligned with Expo City Dubai’s long-term plans, policies and vision.
