Mai Abdelhamid has over 32 years of experience in housing policy, housing finance, and mortgage lending. She graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1993 and earned professional diplomas from Wharton and American Express Bank.
She is the CEO of Egypt’s Social Housing & Mortgage Finance Fund and former Vice President of the African Union for Housing Finance. She also served as Chairman of the Mortgage Finance Fund and Advisor at the Egyptian Mortgage Finance Authority.
A certified trainer by the US Mortgage Bankers Association, she has served on boards of major financial and real estate entities. In 2024, she received the Arab Government Excellence Award for her leadership in advancing social housing.
