Joaquim Alvarez

Joaquim Alvarez is Chief Digital Officer at KōAN, an executive AI and digital strategy advisor, and former Head of Cognitive Cities & Software Engineering at NEOM. MIT-certified, he brings extensive experience in digital transformation, smart cities and intelligent infrastructure.

At NEOM, he helped shape the Digital Cognitive Master Plan, developing strategic frameworks and guidelines for AI, smart buildings, digital twins and IoT. His work focused on integrating digital technologies into the design, development and operation of intelligent buildings and urban environments.

With a career spanning Deloitte, T-Systems and Barcelona City Council, Joaquim combines technology strategy with hands-on experience in large-scale urban transformation. He brings a practitioner's perspective on how AI and emerging technologies can transform real estate, accelerate urban innovation and shape the future of cities.
