James Mandel

James Mandel is the President and Chief Commercial Officer at EnKoat, an advanced materials company dedicated to protecting buildings and the people in them from extreme heat. EnKoat's products can lower internal temperatures by up to 20 degrees while extending asset life and resilience.

Prior to joining EnKoat, James was the Chief Sustainability Officer and head of decarbonization programs for Blackstone. James focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and decarbonization across Blackstone's infrastructure, private equity, and real estate portfolios.

James has also held leadership roles at Rocky Mountain Institute, including as head of the Carbon Free Buildings program, and advised on energy and sustainability topics as a consultant for McKinsey & Company. James holds a BA from Princeton University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
