Guillermo Ortiz is Senior Advisor and Board Member of BTG Pactual, and former Chairman of BTG Pactual Latin America ex-Brazil and of Grupo Financiero Banorte (2010–2014).
He served as Governor of Banco de México (1998–2009) and Secretary of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico (1994–1997), after having been Undersecretary of Finance (1988–1994) and Executive Director at the IMF.
Dr. Ortiz chaired the BIS and the Per Jacobsson Foundation, and is a member of the Group of Thirty. He holds a BA from UNAM and a PhD in Economics from Stanford University.
