Rui Coutinho

Rui Coutinho is Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Board Member at MEXT: Mota-Engil Next, where he leads innovation across Mota-Engil’s global construction and infrastructure business. His work focuses on identifying and scaling emerging technologies, developing new business models, and building partnerships with start-ups and technology companies to address challenges across construction and the built environment.

Alongside his industry role, Rui is an Invited Professor of Innovation at Nova School of Business and Economics, and an author, researcher and entrepreneur. He is the author of If Darwin Were a CEO, which explores how organisations can adapt and evolve in an era of rapid technological and societal change.
