Mauricio Rodas is a global urban leader in climate finance and sustainable infrastructure. As Mayor of Quito (2014–2019), he delivered the country’s first Metro in a record breaking three years - on time and within budget - while advancing sustainability, resilience, and inclusive economic growth.He currently serves as Professor of Practice at the University of Pennsylvania and holds senior roles at Columbia University, the Atlantic Council, and the United Nations. He also leads global efforts to scale innovative financing for cities through the SDSN Global Commission for Urban SDG Finance.As Founder of Meridio Consulting, he advises cities worldwide on urban policy, finance, and sustainable development. A former Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, he has received several international awards on urban leadership and is widely recognized for advancing global urban agendas.
