Federico Gutierrez
Federico Gutiérrez is serving as Mayor of Medellín for a second term. In October 2023, he received more than 689,000 votes, becoming the most-voted mayor in the city’s history. He previously served as Mayor from 2016 to 2019, leading the city for his first term.
He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Medellín and specializations in Senior Management and Political Science. He also served eight years as a Medellín City Councilor and has worked as a consultant on comprehensive urban security for cities in Argentina and Mexico.
In 2022, he ran for Colombia’s presidency with Creemos, receiving more than five million votes. Today, Creemos is a political alternative in Colombia, with a regional and citizen-centered approach. Gutiérrez has built his career around public service, dialogue with citizens, and collaborative work.
