Dirk Ahlborn

Dirk Ahlborn is the founder of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, and founder of JumpStarter Inc., the crowd-collaboration platform behind it. HyperloopTT was built by hundreds of contributors worldwide, not a conventional payroll, an approach documented in a Harvard case study.

He began his career in 1993 as an investment specialist in Berlin. After moving to Italy in 1997 he founded companies in alternative energy. He later built early-stage technology companies at the Girvan Institute of Technology, a nasa funded non-profit incubator.

Today he works with companies on innovation and on integrating AI into how they operate, and teaches founders to take an idea to launch. He speaks on high-speed transport, the economics of new mobility, and what happens to cities when distance stops being the constraint.
