Cem Kemal Mimaroglu

Cem (pronounced “Gem”) is the founding GP of ComposeVC's Built World fund based in NYC. The fund invests in early-stage startups digitizing the real estate, construction, and infrastructure sectors and is backed by strategic multinationals.

The fund's portfolio companies so far have either attracted co-investments and/or secured follow-ons from top-tier VCs (Zacua, Metaprop), sector-specific CVCs (Heritage Group), and generalist investors (A16Z and PE shops), among others.

Before his current role, Cem built and managed some of the largest Corporate VCs of his region, investing mostly in the US. He became a venture capitalist after exiting 3 startups. His career began at Lehman Bros and First Data.
