Baroness Gohir is an independent member of the House of Lords in the UK parliament. She is a prominent social justice advocate and is the founder of two women’s empowerment charities: Muslim Women’s Network UK and Nisa Global Foundation.

Baroness Gohir has worked in the British charity sector for over twenty years and is recognised as one of the most influential Muslim women in Britain. She has served on numerous UK government and public bodies.

She has previously served as a Non-Executive Director at a University Hospital Trust and currently sits on the Board of the Law Commission. She is also a member of the UK
Government’s Working Group on defining Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hatred.
