Yewande's work as an Engineer and Innovation Consultant  includes the design and construction, innovation and manufacture of sustainable solutions for the built environment.

Yewande sits on the governing body at the University of Warwick and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Westminster. In the 2020. Yewande was awarded an MBE for services to engineering innovation and diversity in STEM.

Yewande has served as the UK's Innovation Agency (Innovate UK) Ambassador for Clean Growth and Infrastructure and is Vice President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and serves on a number of boards.
