Joanne Anderson is a nationally recognised expert in equity, diversity, and inclusion, with over 30 years’ experience across public, private, and third sectors.

In 2021, she became the UK’s first Black woman directly elected as Mayor. She led
Liverpool through governance reform and introduced a pioneering Triple Lock policy on
equity, environment, and social value.

She is founder of Innervision and BlaST, and Project Director of the £50m Social Investment Pathfinder. An adjunct professor at LJMU, she champions inclusive economic growth, social investment, and systems change.
