James Ramsey is founder of RAAD Studio, a team of architects, interior designers, and inventors. RAAD has designed and built hundreds of buildings around the world. He is also the creator of the Lowline, the world’s first underground park.
James studied architecture at Yale University where he won a Bates Fellowship. He then went to work as a satellite engineer for NASA, working on craft that went to Pluto and Saturn.
Ramsey’s concept for the Lowline is a plan to create the world’s first underground park in Manhattan, using a new solar technology. To do this, Ramsey invented a solar technology that gathers and concentrates sunlight, channeling it underground.
