Illya Azaroff, FAIA, Architect, Geographer and professor at New York City of Technology (CUNY). He is an expert in building resilient capacity and regenerative planning in vulnerable communities with over 30 years experience. 

Illya has been instrumental in advancing resilient design all around the globe. He has been honored with the star of Oceana Award, for his ability to combine indigenous wisdom with modern technologies creating innovative community resilience hubs.

Illya is also a board member at the AIA - American Institute of Architects, elected as the 2026 president. He helps steers policies, and design excellence, shaping resilient and sustainable architecture practice for the 98,000 members.
