External Reference is a multidisciplinary studio that turns spaces into emotional experiences through architecture and design, inventions, architecture, retail and hospitality, exhibition spaces, and products.

The studio, which was founded in 2007 approaches all its projects, focusing on innovation and technological research, drawing from a broad range of external inspirations, such as contemporary art, sciences, and philosophy.

Among its notable projects are the new seafront of Nova Bocana on Barcelona's beach; the exhibition route of the Spain Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020; The EU Pavilion at Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023; the marketplace WOW in Madrid.
