Dimitris Psarrakis
Dimitris Psarrakis is Board Director of GBBC, Senior Fellow of Wharton Business School, co-Founder of ValueVerse, and former European Union Economist. Dimitris is Financial Economist and Financial Markets innovator, with extensive experience in Corporate Finance, Banking, Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Regulation.
He served for seven years as Economic and Monetary Policy Specialist at the European Parliament. Dimitris, co-drafted the most of the Digital Finance Regulations of the EU with extensive contributions in Title 2 and Title 3 of the Markets in Crypto-Asset Regulation. His last contribution before leaving the European Parliament was the DLT Pilot Regime, which focuses on the trading, clearing and settlement of tokenized financial instruments.
During his service in the EU, Dimitris, worked in the economic design of the of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) and the InvestEU Vehicle of the European Union emphasising on the “infrastructures investments window” of those financial packages. Dimitris has co-authored three Infrastructure Development policy reports for the G-20 meetings in three consecutive years (2019-2021).
Dimitris teaches the class of DLT Financial Infrastructures at the Centre of Alternative Finance at Cambridge University and has taught classes on Digital Assets at the University of Chicago, MIT and Stanford University. He is author of two books on Digital Finance and Blockchain Economics.
Dimitris graduated with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth Business School, a Master's degree in Finance from Harvard University and an Advanced Diploma in Technology Management from MIT, Sloan School.
